Welcome to the Files Area! Concepts and Rules:

General

• This area of the Karma Lab Forums is available to registered members only (who must be logged in). If you are here as a guest, you can see the forums, but none of the contents. You must register or log-in before you can access this area.
  
  
• The concept in here is to have a single topic (thread) for each downloadable file. Therefore, do NOT create any new topics in here that are not related to a new file you are uploading! The only new topics that should be created in the Files Area should be topics containing a downloadable file (or a link to one somewhere else on the internet). Anything else will be ruthlessly moved or deleted by one of the moderators.
  
  
• You MAY reply to a topic, however, and make comments or questions about the file that is referenced by the topic.
  

Download

• After downloading files, please come back later and make use of the Rate This Topic feature found at the bottom of the topic (when you are inside it reading the messages). Let others know whether you found the file useful, or good, or not!
  

Upload

• When you make a new topic and upload a file, please include the following information. You can copy from the Template below (using your mouse) and paste it into the text of the file upload message you will create. Then edit the text in between the brackets to have the correct information for your file.
  

File Upload Template (copy and edit the text below)

Author: <replace this text with your name, KLF username, or the author of the file> Date: <replace this text with the upload date or creation date of the file, dd-Mmm-yyyy. Example: 04-Jul-2003> Description: <replace this text with a description of what the file is, what it is for, how to use it, etc.> File Size: <replace this text with the size in KB. Examples: 124 KB   2,348 KB>

• If the file is a replacement or update to one that already exists, please indicate this in the "Description" section of the message, and a moderator will delete the other file. You can also contact a moderator to make sure s/he notices.
  
  
• Do NOT upload copyrighted material unless you have permission to do so. Copyrighted material may be anything that you yourself did not create, such as product manuals, PCG files taken from other areas of the internet, etc. The moderators will delete anything that seems as if it may be a violation of copyright laws.
  
  
• Do NOT use spaces in the names of your uploaded files! On the internet, spaces in names get turned into %20 everywhere. For example, "My Uploaded File" would become "My%20Uploaded%20File." We suggest using the underscore character '_' to break up words, like this: "My_Uploaded_File."
  
  
• Please uncheck "Show Signature" before submitting your new topic so that your post is as easy to read as possible, and doesn't contain non-essential information.
  
  
• Posting Tips:
  
  
  • Look at a few uploaded file topics first to get a feel for the way to present your file. If you save us the trouble of having to edit your upload, we will appreciate it.
    
    
  • Do NOT use the "Preview Message" function once you have selected a file attachment in the message creation page. It will destroy your message! The best way is to create and format your message first, preview it until it looks the way you want, then attach the file as the final step and "Submit" it.
    
    
  • You can edit your own messages for up to 24 hours after you create them - this includes replacing the attached uploaded file with something else. So you can fix typos, add information, redo the file etc., all without having to contact a moderator or create a new topic. Just use the "Edit" button that is found at the lower right of every post when you are viewing them.
    
    
• If you run into a problem with the file size where it's too large to upload, or any other issues, please contact a moderator for assistance.
