Hello people,

I wanted to give you a "heads up" about where I am with the software. Currently, both the Windows version and the Mac OS X version are in beta testing, and are appearing to be pretty solid. But there are a few features that are still incomplete, which I am working on now. I was shooting for October 15th, but obviously that has come and gone, so I am now shooting for Nov 1st. I apologize for the delay, I know some of you are anxious to get this, so please be patient, it will be worth it.

Hey Stephen, don't worry! You announced it to come after October, 15th! And that's absolutely ok! I think the more important thing is your short update notice, so everyone knows what's going on right now in your mystic KARMA laboratory I think, all of us appreciate your work and if you have more time it can only get even better

Stephen - no worries... We'd rather see it done *right* than done *fast* just to make an arbitrary (and probably optimistic) deadline anyway. We're not going anywhere...

Besides, a lot of people already spent too much money for the month of October anyway...might be better for some of us to wait until Nov 1 rolls around so we aren't completely broke

Thanks!

As long as you release it in time for Christmas, it'll be on my list

Hi Stephen,

What's the latest news on KO release date, and also the possible concessionary price for KARMA MW orphans?
(My Korg KARMA went to another good home a long time ago)

Cheers,

Abdul Razzaq

Well, the fact of the matter is that the writing of the code to transmit the Combis and Programs via Sysex (back and forth) is kicking my ass, and the release will be subsequently more delayed. I am working on this everyday, it's my highest priority.

Apologize ahead of time if this is a stupid question. What is KO software? I own a post production facility in Los Angeles and we use the Oasys quite a bit for sound design and scoring. Will KO replace the board or just add integration.

Thank you in advance.

No one better than Stephen to answer that, but let me try....

KARMA KO software is a soft for MAC/WIN computers with mainly two functionalities:
-It's a GE editor. You can take the GEs from your Oasys and modify them accessing all the parameters included in the KARMA engine..not just the few ones exposed in the Oasys. You can also create GEs from scratch if you like. All these GEs can be sent to the Oasys and stored as user GEs.

-It's a KARMA engine. When an OASYS is connected to the computer, you can use you computer as a KARMA generator. It will produce MIDI data (in the same way they are generated in the Oasys) and sent via MIDI to the Oasys or any other computer or synth connected. You also have some advantages as you have more PADs available, 6 modules instead the 4 in the Oasys,e tc. As this is not dependant of Oasys KARMA you could use 4 modules from Oasys KARMA plus 6 modules from your computer at the same time (in combi mode).

Rgds.

Hi Leo, yes, that's all correct - want a job?

genelebrock, if you have more questions, let me know.

In any case, I wanted to let people know what is going on, since the release has been delayed. I am happy to report that the ass-kicking part of the code that I was working on has been mostly wrestled into submission, a few twitches more to be put down, and then this is going out to the beta testers. I am fully anticipating that by Dec 1st at the latest this will be out, damn it, and any other remaining issues (none significant) can wait for a future free update.

Thanks for your patience and interest.

Hi Stephen.
Will we be drowned in pleasure this weekend?

PS
Have you worked out a price for orphaned MW customers yet?

PPS
I hope you had a festive Thanksgiving.
