Hi Stephen,

Will the M3 Firewire interface be mLAN (DICEII) compatible? Or, can the [COLOR=sky blue]EXB-mLAN board[/color] be installed in M3 instead?

PS. The high end XS comes with mLAN as standard. And, it appears that mLAN FireWire Music Networking is getting stronger in 2007:

Hi!

What would be the recommended way to connect M3 to an mLAN digital mixer like 01x? Is it the digital i/o, analog i/o, or something else? Please, see above. Thank you in advance.

I have not heard that there is any mLan "stuff" for the M3. This is a standard promoted by Yamaha, and I seem to recall hearing that many manufacturers were not having good luck attempting to support it - but I don't know all the nitty-gritty about that.

I would assume you could connect it with the FireWire option somehow, or some mLAN adaptor.

I think you are quite right. mLAN/01x is not the easiest system to start with, although it can become quite effective, if you have got the time to learn it. Currently, mLAN is supporting XP well, but later this (?) year it should also work in Apple and Vista.

I wish somebody would invent a general Firewire to mLAN adaptor. ... Or, maybe it can be built in the mLAN driver.
