This up-tempo Electronic/Pop style Performance is another to feature KARMA Wave-Sequencing to good effect. It features a solid stomping electronic style drum groove with quirky industrial noise & hit samples, a simple "4 on the floor" synth bass that works well with the drum groove to create an urgent marching effect, and a bubbling synth-organ pattern with dynamic filter effects. The previously mentioned KARMA Wave-Sequence pattern can produce a whole range of cool variations, especially using Master Layer Sliders 7 & 8 (which adjust Pattern Select and Wavesequence Offset independently) - Wavesequence Offset in particular can provide some very cool results by selecting between 127 different sets of 16 wavesamples! And to round things off is a gated synth pattern driving a slightly distorted synth-string sound that pans across the stereo spectrum. The Fill button provides a complimentary drum fill with pitch-bend envelopes and other variations.

The LH/KARMA area provides a bright synth stack with long release, while the RH area provides two different poly synth voices controlled by A.Sw2: a warm synth brass voice, and an ethereal vocal pad; A.Sw1 lengthens the portamento time on both of them. You'll find that the even-numbered scenes call up the synth brass voice, while the odd-numbered scenes call up the vocal pad.

Motif Arps/Special Notes
  • Two Motif arps can be added as additional elements: Pads 9 to 12 trigger a syncopated attack synth riff, while Pads 13 to 16 trigger a cyclic 16th note riff - both of which have ascending scale steps based on the last-played chord and shut each other off, courtesy of the Chord Trigger exclusives - try alternating between them, for example, Pad 9 and Pad 13.
  • A.Sw1 (portamento time) is not stored in the scenes, so it can be freely toggled at any time, while A.Sw2 (lead sound) is stored in the scenes, courtesy of the "Assignable Switch in Scenes" checkbox under A.Sw2 in the Real-Time Controls page.

Scenes (Master) Description
Scene 1 (simplest) - suitable for an intro or breakdown, with minimal activity, some interesting SFX from the perc pattern and wave-sequencing, simple 3 note organ-synth, single note bass, choppy gated synth with bends; sparse fill with delays
Scene 2 (simpler) - activity picks up, doubled bass note, with more SFX from the perc pattern, wave-sequencing with bends, a repetitive bubbling organ riff, gated synth pattern with open space; busier panning fill ending in vibraslap
Scene 3 (simpler) - 4 on the floor kick with SFX perc, two-beat root bass, busier wave-sequencing and other parts, similar to the startup scene but more open; syncopated randomized fill with downwards pitch-bend
Scene 4 (startup) - the basic full groove; pitch-bending syncopated snare and toms fill
Scene 5 (busier) - solid drum groove, bass goes to alternating octaves, perc SFX change to shakers, interesting scalic variation on the organ, steady alternating L/R gated pattern; panning pitch-bending fill
