Infinite Horizon 84 BPM - 4/4 Electronic/Pop Lead Synth
hand diagram
This slow to mid-tempo Electronic/Pop Performance demonstrates lots of atmosphere courtesy of Module 3's "drifting cloud" pad, which is a cluster of random notes that drift slowly from left to right (and back again) across the stereo field creating a dreamy, ambient effect. Underneath and on top of that is a laid-back and slightly funky acoustic drum-kit groove with shaker & conga, a busy and highly compressed sounding Moog-type synth-bass pattern, a highly rhythmic gated analog polysynth pattern with added KARMA filter envelope, and a staccato pattern with random panning triggering a plucky synth voice with randomly selected waveforms that alternates with bars of silence in the startup scene (controlled by Master Layer Switch 7). The Fill button delivers a suitably randomized laid-back matching snare and toms fill with a number of variations in the scenes.

The LH/KARMA input area provides an ethereal ambient synth bell, while the RH area serves up two different monophonic lead synths for soloing controlled by A.Sw2: a rising expressive Moog-style synth-lead (A.Sw2 = off) and a huge octaves lead with resonance and long release (A.Sw2 = on) - both of which can be dropped down an octave for extended soloing range in the lower notes using A.Sw1. You'll find the rising lead stored in Scenes 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the huge lead in Scenes 1, 2, 7 and 8 - turn off the "Assignable Switches In Scenes" checkbox under A.Sw2 to keep the current lead during scene changes.
Left Hand: Ambient ethereal synth bell
Right Hand: Rising mini moog lead (A.Sw2 = off)
Huge octaves lead w/resonance (A.Sw2 = on)

Motif Arps/Special Notes
  • Two Motif arps can be added as additional elements: Pads 9 to 12 trigger a bell-like electric piano pattern, while Pads 13 to 16 trigger an organ arpeggio - both of which have ascending scale steps based on the last-played chord and can be layered on top of each other.
  • When not soloing, use the ribbon (if available on your keyboard) to the far right to add a cool pitch-bend envelope to the Pad-Sweep (Module 3).

Scenes (Master) Description
Scene 1 (simplest) - shakers and hand drum, stacatto double bass note with open space, fading and panning pad-swell, slowly panning pulsing gated synth, syn-pluck plays many different waveforms at random with longer notes; high-pitched sparse snare and toms fill with triplet repeats
Scene 2 (simpler) - arpeggiated pitch-bending percussion and tom, long sustained bass notes with slow downwards bend, random lower notes on the pad-swell, gated synth plays a busier chopped pattern and alternates octaves while the syn-pluck plays a pattern with some pitch-bending and bouncing 32nd notes; panning snare and toms fill with downwards pitch-bend envelope
Scene 3 (simpler) - arpeggiated pitch-bending kick, hats and percussion, bass plays a 16th note ostinato pattern, higher notes on the pad-swell, gated synth leaves more open space for the syn-pluck to play a 32nd note pattern every other bar; syncopated 16th and 32nd note snare and toms fill with downwards pitch-bend envelope
Scene 4 (simpler) - a simplified version of the startup scene cause by Master Layer Slider 2 Rhythm Complexity moving to the min position; drums to the sidestick and hats, more space in all parts; straight randomized snare and toms fill with downwards pitch bend envelope
Scene 5 (startup) - the basic full groove with kick, snare, hats and perc, busy bass line, gated synth retriggers the filter sweep every 8 bars, syn-pluck plays every 2 bars alternating with silence while the pad-swell fades in and out and left to right; straight randomized snare and toms fill
Scene 6 (busier) - drums move to the ride cymbal while more percussion is added, bass changes to a straighter busy pattern, pad-swell moves to higher notes while the gated synth starts chopping left and right and syn-pluck plays all the time; syncopated randomized snare and toms fill
Scene 7 (busiest) - drums double up and switch to sidestick while the bass plays a driving syncopated 16ths line, gated synth starts alternating octaves, the pad-swell adds some pitch-bending and the syn-pluck plays staggered clusters; syncopated randomized snare and toms fill with panning
Scene 8 (half-time) - heavy half-time variation with buzzing arpeggiated pitch-bend drums and perc, long bass notes with slow bends, slow chopping on the gated synth and pitch-bend added to the syn-pluck; panning 32nd note snare and toms fill with repeats and panning
