Pop goes the Walrus 95 BPM - 4/4 Pop/Rock Guitar/Plucked
hand diagram
This mid-tempo Pop/Rock Performance gets its name from Module 3's comping Wurlitzer piano phrase in the style of The Beatles' late 60's classic "I Am The Walrus". The groove consists of a slightly funky acoustic drum-kit groove with a high degree of swing, a kick drum accentuating electric bass guitar pattern playing octaves, the previously mentioned comping Wurlitzer piano pattern, a funky muted electric guitar pattern panned left and a simple strummed rhythm guitar pattern panned right. The Fill button triggers an off-beat syncopated snare and toms fill with different variations in each scene.

The LH/KARMA area provides an organ (use the sustain pedal to latch), while the RH provides two completely different soloing experiences, controlled by A.Sw2: a distorted lead guitar and a Wurlitzer e.piano with tremolo on the mod wheel. In this Performance, the A.Switches are not set to be stored in the scenes, so they can be freely toggled on and off at any time without scene changes affecting them - so you'll find the lead guitar in all scenes.
Left Hand: Organ
Right Hand: Distorted lead guitar (poly) (A.Sw2 = off)
Wurly e.piano (poly) (A.Sw2 = on)
Split Points: * B2/C3
Motif Arps/Special Notes
  • Two Motif arps can be added as additional elements: Pads 9 to 12 trigger a comping acoustic piano pattern, while Pads 13 to 16 trigger an additional strummed rhythm guitar pattern - both of which have ascending scale steps based on the last-played chord and can be layered on top of each other.
  • If you'd like the scene changes to change the lead sound, turn on the "Assignable Switches In Scenes" checkbox under A.Sw2 in the Real-Time Controls page.
